Infrastructure for a Thriving Economy
E Komo Mai No Ka ‘Oi Hale – a 501(c)3 non profit organization based in Kalapana, Hawai‘i – is inviting key partners and stakeholders to join us for the design and development of a future Kalapana Marina.
The project addresses an urgent need in the Big Island’s Puna District for emergency and disaster preparedness, including fire, rescue and helipad facilities. Long term, the Kalapana Marina will drive economic development opportunities for the local community, particularly in the fishing, food and tourism industries.
Rooted in the heritage of Kalapana, the marina will also serve as a hub for paddling, voyaging and oceanic education and research.
Support for Phase 1 of the project will fund:
- The development of a Kalapana Marina strategic plan
- Community consultation and stakeholder engagement
- Initial site design and locally run project management
Mahalo for your giving, every dollar makes a difference.
