MAHALO FOR YOUR SUPPORT
E Komo Mai No Ka Oi Hale is a Federal tax-exempt foundation under section 501(c)(3). EIN: 33-1463855.
As a locally-based, community-run 501(c)(3) non profit charitable foundation, E Komo Mai No Ka Oi Hale is committed to uplifting the people of Kalapana and Puna District on Hawai‘i Island. We do this by designing and delivering projects across four foundational pillars: Community Infrastructure, Economic Development, Education Programs, and Heritage Preservation.

If you donate online, an additional 7.6% processing fee is applied by the donor portal and payment processor. Donors may opt to cover this fee if desired to provide the full donation amount to the organization. No fee will be paid if your donation is given directly to a local TBH charity member. Either way, your support of TBH is greatly appreciated!
Benefits of Giving
While supporting local community programs, your donation to E Komo Mai No Ka Oi Hale is also tax-deductible. Here are some benefits of giving.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): A Smart Way to Give
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70 1⁄2 or older to donate directly from their IRA to a
qualified charity. This strategy can provide significant tax benefits while supporting causes you care about.
Key Benefits:
• Reduce taxable income: QCDs are excluded from your taxable income.
• Satisfy Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs): QCDs count toward your annual RMD.
• Potentially lower Medicare premiums and Social Security taxation by reducing adjusted gross income (AGI).
• No need to itemize deductions to receive the tax benefit.
• Support charities you care about in a tax-efficient way.
